FAQs

How many children are in a group lesson?

The maximum number is 6 children in swimmer classes and 5 children in non swimmer classes.

How long is each lesson?

All lessons are for 30 minutes.

What should my child bring to their lesson?

You will need to bring swimming costume/trunks/shorts, swimming hats are essential but can be brought from your instructor on the day and goggles if needed. All equipment is provided by us.

Does my child need to wear a hat or goggles?

We request that all children wear a swimming hat whilst swimming, these can be purchased at each pool via your instructor. Goggles are optional in the early stages but extremely beneficial in the swimming stage as they allow the swimmers to see where they are going and help with chlorine irritating the eyes.

How long am I committed for?

Once your place has been booked you are committed to one whole term of lessons. Half a terms notice is required to the swim coordinator is you wish to cancel.

What happens if I miss the payment date?

Late payments will result in a £7.50 late payment charge being added to your invoice.

How do I enrol onto lessons?

Contact the swim coordinator via phone or email to discuss lessons options. A place can be booked over the phone. If no spaces are available we can put you on the waiting list and contact you as soon as a space becomes available.

What happens if my child misses a lesson due to illness?

We do not offer refunds or catch ups for general illness but should the illness or injury be long term please contact the swim coordinator to discuss options

What swimming awards can I expect my child to get?

We follow the ASA award scheme; you can expect your child to take part in a Stage award assessment and a distance swim each term. Some swimmers in the higher stages will also take part in Personal Survival awards.
